   An animated television series based on the life's work of comic strip artist Jim Davis. It was a very long running Saturday morning cartoon, second to The Smurfs. Garfield & Friends contains Garfield, as well as a bonus adaptation of U.S. Acres, which is another newspaper comic about Jon Arbuckle's family farm that was published for a few years. Garfield also had several television specials made, and produced by the same crew that did Charlie Brown & Snoopy. The production staff openly protested against the budget cuts by adding a very bossy U.S. Acres character named Aloysius whose purpose is to get in everybody's way.
